Privacy Policy
We handle two kinds of sensitive information: your personal details when you order from us, and recorded footage when we install or service a camera system at your site. This page explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

01 Who is responsible for your data
camdoot.com is owned and operated by Camdoot, operated by Satish Sahu, at Chas, Bokaro, Jharkhand 827013 (“Camdoot”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
We are the data fiduciary for the personal information collected through this website and through our installation and service work. This policy is published under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and follows the principles of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
02 Information we collect from you
We only ask for what we actually need to sell, deliver and install a camera system.
- Contact details — name, phone number, WhatsApp number, email address.
- Delivery and site details — full address, PIN code, landmark, and any access notes you give us.
- Order information — products purchased, order value, invoice and payment status.
- Account information — username and an encrypted password, if you create an account.
- Service information — site survey notes, number and placement of cameras, DVR model and serial number, warranty and AMC records.
- Communication — what you write to us by email, WhatsApp, contact form or product review.
- Refund details — UPI ID or bank account, name and IFSC, only when we owe you a refund on a Cash on Delivery order.
We do not collect Aadhaar, PAN, biometric data, caste, religion, health information or any other sensitive category unless a specific legal requirement makes it necessary, in which case we will tell you why at the time.
03 Information collected automatically
When you browse the website, our hosting and analytics tools record standard technical data:
- IP address, browser type, device type and operating system;
- pages viewed, time spent, and the link or search that brought you here;
- cart contents and session activity, so your cart is still there when you come back.
This is used in aggregate to understand which products people look at and to keep the site secure. It is not used to build a personal profile of you.
04 CCTV footage and site access
This is the part that matters most, so we want to be completely clear about it.
- Your recordings belong to you. Footage is recorded to the hard disk in your own DVR or NVR, at your premises. Camdoot does not host, back up, stream or store your footage on any server of ours.
- We do not have remote access to your cameras. Once installation is complete, the mobile app is configured on your phone with credentials you control. We do not keep a copy of your viewing password and we cannot log in to your system afterwards.
- During installation or a service visit, our technician necessarily sees the live view and may play back recent footage to confirm that recording, night vision and motion detection are working. This is done in your presence, only for testing, and nothing is copied, photographed or taken away.
- Please change the default password. We set an initial password during installation and ask you to change it. Keeping the default password is the single biggest risk to the privacy of your footage.
- Installation photographs. We sometimes photograph completed work for our own records or for the “Live Installations” gallery on this website. We ask your permission first, we never include faces, house numbers, vehicle number plates or anything that identifies your address, and you can ask us to remove a photo at any time.
- Footage requests from others. If police or any authority asks us for footage from your system, we cannot provide it — we do not hold it. We will direct them to you.
You remain responsible for how your own system is used, including camera placement, signage and consent, as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
05 Why we use your information
- To process, pack, dispatch and deliver your order.
- To schedule site surveys, installations and AMC visits, and to let the technician reach you.
- To send order confirmations, dispatch updates and invoices.
- To handle returns, refunds, warranty claims and complaints.
- To keep a service history so a future technician knows what is already installed at your site.
- To answer questions you send us by email, WhatsApp or the contact form.
- To detect fraud, prevent misuse of coupons, and keep the website secure.
- To meet our accounting, tax and legal record-keeping obligations.
- To send offers or product news — only if you have opted in, and you can opt out any time.
06 Your consent
By placing an order, booking a visit or contacting us, you consent to us using your information for the purposes listed in Section 05. Consent for marketing messages is asked for separately and is never bundled with an order.
You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to support@camdoot.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it, and we may still need to keep certain records to complete a pending order, honour a warranty, or comply with tax law.
07 Payment information
- Payments are processed by our authorised payment gateway partner on their own secure, encrypted, PCI-DSS compliant systems.
- Camdoot never sees or stores your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, net banking password or OTP. These are entered directly on the gateway’s page.
- We only receive confirmation of whether a payment succeeded or failed, along with a transaction reference number.
- Bank or UPI details you send us for a Cash on Delivery refund are used only to make that refund, and are deleted once the refund is confirmed.
- No genuine Camdoot employee will ever ask you for a CVV, PIN, OTP or full card number. If someone does, it is a fraud — end the call and report it to us.
08 Who we share information with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. We share it only where it is necessary:
- Courier and delivery partners — your name, address and phone number, so they can deliver the parcel.
- Payment gateway — order amount and reference, to process payment and refunds.
- Our installation technicians — your name, address, phone number and site notes, so they can reach you and do the job.
- Manufacturers and service centres — invoice details and product serial number, when we raise a warranty claim on your behalf.
- Service providers — hosting, email and analytics providers who process data on our instructions, under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal authorities — where we are required by law, a court order or a valid government request to disclose information.
09 WhatsApp, calls and messages
Much of our support runs over WhatsApp and phone. When you message us, WhatsApp’s own privacy terms apply to the message in transit — we suggest reading them if that matters to you.
- We use your number to reply about your order, arrange a visit and follow up on service.
- Photos or videos you send us of a faulty product are used only to assess that request.
- We will not add you to any WhatsApp group or broadcast list without asking you first.
- To stop promotional messages, reply STOP or email us. Transactional messages about an active order will continue.
10 Cookies and tracking
Our website uses cookies — small files stored by your browser:
- Essential cookies keep you logged in, remember your cart and let checkout work. The site cannot function without these.
- Analytics cookies tell us which pages and products people visit, in aggregate.
- Preference cookies remember small choices so you don’t have to set them again.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but if you block essential cookies, the cart and checkout will stop working.
11 How long we keep information
12 How we protect information
- The website runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
- Admin access to orders and customer records is limited to authorised people and protected by passwords.
- Passwords are stored in encrypted form and cannot be read by us.
- Our technicians are instructed to keep everything they see at your premises confidential.
- We keep our website software and plugins updated to close known security gaps.
No system online is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute safety. If a data breach affects your information, we will inform you and the relevant authority as required by law, and tell you what was affected and what to do about it.
13 Your rights over your data
You can ask us to:
- Show you what personal information we hold about you;
- Correct anything inaccurate, incomplete or out of date;
- Delete your information and close your account, where we are not required by law to keep it;
- Stop marketing messages while continuing to receive updates about active orders;
- Withdraw consent you previously gave.
Email support@camdoot.com from the address registered on your account, or write to the officer named in Section 17. We may ask a question or two to confirm it is really you before acting. We respond to every request within 30 days, and usually much sooner. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
Note that invoices, tax records and warranty documents must be retained for the periods in Section 11 even after an account is deleted.
14 Children
Our website and services are meant for people aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
15 Third-party links
This website links to other places — our Instagram page, WhatsApp, the payment gateway and manufacturer sites. Once you leave camdoot.com, this policy no longer applies. Please read the privacy policy of any site you visit from here.
16 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The revised version applies from the date it is published here, and the “Last updated” date at the top will change. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you by email or a notice on the website.
17 Grievance and contact
For any privacy question, data request or complaint about how we have handled your information, contact our grievance officer:
We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and resolve data requests within 30 days.
